Today is Earth day, it was also one of my typical-doing-nothing-at-home days. My way of relaxing and vacationing.
I was given the dinner of the day responsibility cause my mom was really busy for the day, she wanted me to cook spaghetti, she even bought me some basil the day before. Now, the basil we have here is different from those in Canada and the last time I used it, it turned out be a total disaster. My mom also bought me some meat and told me to do whatever I like with it. Huh??!!!
So, at first, I planned to just cook the meat the way my mom always does, with garlic and black soy sauce and black pepper. Then...I found this bottle of mix herbs that was being ignored for god knows how long so i figured why not try the meatballs recipe on the meat. I wasnt sure at all how the meatballs will turn out to be until I saw they turned golden crisp on the outside and smelled nice. I can smell the rosemary in the mix herbs. Good sign. As for the spaghetti sauce, I sticked to the basic with garlic, onion, tomatoes, basil and Prego. Taste? Fantastico!Tasted like what the one I cooked in T-bird. But it was still up to the judges to decide.
Ok, cooking for my mom is a nightmare, its a lot of pressure because I'm constantly trying too hard to get her approval on my cooking. *sweats...
But this time, My mom and my little brother liked it, yayss!! Finally!! This is the 2nd dish she approves of me other than my delicious fried rice. Wahahahaa...
All of these were after I finished my Hindi movie, Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gham by Karan Johar, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Kajol, Shahrukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan, my favourite Bollywood actors. Stumbled onto Koffee with Karan last night and it made me miss Bollywood movie so much and Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gham was a great one. Go watch it on youtube if you've never seen it before, definitely worth watching. Made me laugh so hard on the first half and made me cried like a baby on the second half. hahaha..i'm obsessed with Hindi movies again, well..only those with the actors mentioned above in them like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Baghban (strongly recommended!!), Koi..Mil Gaya, Devdas, Swades, and Duplicate are among my favourites. =)
My family never understand why I like Hindi movies so much, they always shoot me this odd look and mumbling something like "why are you watching this...bla blab bla" whenever they saw me watching Hindi movies on the teli. Well, I sort of grew up with Hindi movies, my nanny loved it and so lots of my childhood memories until I was 7 or 8 had Shahrukh Khan in them (I'm not complaining!). He's one of the best actor I've ever seen and liked. heheheee....
Ahhh..Today has been a good day.
