I've only seen one of her many films (I have every intention to watch all of them sometime later), but I've been a big big fan of her advertisements.
Those meaningful petronas advertisements during our National Day,Hari Raya, Deepavali and CNY all these years that never failed to bring tears to my eyes and that I've come to love so much were made by her, I wished I've known that sooner, I wished I've known more about her sooner...
Among my favorites are, "No Charge", "Maya", "Funeral", "Reunion Dinner", "Tan Hong Ming" etc, well basically.... all of them are my favorites.
She reminded us the meaning of Malaysian, our identity and what makes us unique. She made me proud to be a Malaysian.
One of my greatest regrets would be to miss the chance to meet her in person when she was actually in USM for the premier of Talentime, I envy all those who had had the privilege.

"Artists today think of everything they do as a work of art. It is important to forget about what you are doing - then a work of art may happen."
- by Andrew Wyeth
Her favourite quote from the early 20th century american painter and eventhough she didnt even consider herself as an artist, to me....she was among the greatest artists we have ever had.
and I'm proud to say, I am a Fan of Yasmin Ahmad, a true Malaysian storyteller.
