Life?
I suddenly miss my blog, suddenly long to write something.
Life here got me thinking...What do I really want in life?
Doesnt seems like a good topic to start with, Im supposed to be out the door by now.
Aint wanna miss class...
But Im starting to wonder, is life back home what I really want?
Life full with unfairness, where we'll always be the one being left out when it comes to something beneficial. I thought I've moved on from that and that is something I can live with.
Hmmmm...I wonder..
Im going to class now,
hopefully I'll have the mood to continue writing when I get back.

To the person who created .ca and Free Food!
which means that JOyce and I are officially very poor students in Canada.
*sob sob*
A typical day in school will be scratching our head thinking what to eat for lunch and dinner that fit our budget.
Nevertheless, we're still manage to live well under this circumstances for now,
hehheee..eating in definitely help us to save some money and i think by the time I'm back in
Penang again, i'll be a darn good cook! (and hopefully Joyce would know how to cook by then)
Speaking of food, as a student in UBC, you have to know how to take advantage of free food in campus, there was exactly what we did 2 days ago in the computer science learning center near our residence. It was a tribute party to the person who created .ca, his name was John something i think( well, i was a little too preoccupied with all those delicacies in front of me, c'mon..they even had cocktail prawn served!) We were on our way back from the university village with two Big Macs in my hand, (buy one get one free thingy) when we stumbled upon the party, lots of people inside and no body seems to care who you are or why you are there.so i took full advantage of that. We ended up bringing back cans of orange and apple juice with some fruits and with a full stomach. What happened to the Big Macs?? Ooohhh..we had them for lunch today.hehehehe...one meal saved~~ ^^Y
Cheerss!!!

Squirrel crisis
When you first saw them running around campus, you'll go "Look!! a squirrel!! Awww...they're so cute!!!" until you're aware of what are they capable of.
One morning few days back, I was chatting happily on MSN when I heard some scratching on my window so naturally I got up and looked it up lor, there was a squirrel on my window, trying to get into my room! (Fortunately the window was closed~). I didn't pay much attention to that matter and happily left my window open afterwards since my room has this weird smell since the day i moved in and the smell just wouldnt go away. Later on, I went to Joyce's room for a while, and when i came back..The same big fat squirrel was standing on two feet in my room near the window which was where my lavender previously was. Human and squirrel were staring at each other for about 5 seconds before I got to my mind that I should shu the squirrel out. If you thought the squirrel would go away just like that, but NO~~ it was a persistant one alright, i swear i saw determination in those big black eyes!!
He hang on the wall and whenever I opened the window a bit, I can see him staring right at me and climbed a bit nearer to the window. He wont go away until I hit him with a pine corn, and that was after he sniffed at the pine corn and finally knew that was no food for him. *sweat
see how close he got? I didnt even need to zoom in..
Squirrels here are damn smart, they know where and how to get food and i think that's why squirrels here are so fat! My housemate told me that she left the living room window opened a few times and one day she came back and found walnut on the sofa!
Urgh..that's just great! I have to keep my window shut when im not around and the weird smell will be trapped in the room forever!!!

Lavender and pine corns are everywhere. Nice?
..................
It's 12.30pm now, couldnt finish this post last night cause was a little distracted by everything else. I'm still suffering a bit from jetlag I guess, get tired very easily and I wake up very early in the morning now. Well, because i wanna catch my family and everyone online as well. (Vancouver is 15 hours behind Malaysia, so its 3.30am in Malaysia now.)
It's 3rd Sept today, have been here for almost a week, and it's taking me forever to finish the post. (Sorry la, been busy ma...jetlag and all. You know la, the adapt and adjust thingy.)
Okie, so far UBC and Vancouver have been really nice to us, people here are really friendly.
I think Vancouver is the most diversify city (as in diversify in races and countries) that I ever been in and I'm speaking as a citizen that comes from a pretty diversified country itself!!! Poeple here come from all over the world to study, work and live here, you can hear more than 5 different languages are spoken when you're walking down the street, from spanish to french, japanese, korean, mandarin, english, cantonese and etc..Pretty cool eh?
Classes started yesterday, I'm currently taking Spanish, Contrasts and Conflicts: The Cultures of Central, Eastern and Northern Europe (in English) and Introduction to Cultural Anthropology which all have no relations to my major or minor back in USM. *sweat
But hey, that's why i'm here isn't it??!! so no complaints here.
The teaching here is quite different from what you can find in USM, lecturers here...or erm..they're all professors by the way, they talk very comfortably in class, and students participate actively in class, very interactive which is really good~ Students are encouraged to speak up their mind and they are allowed to call their professors by their first name too!! Isnt that cool??!! ehhehee...

There you go, a sneak peek of where I am now,
